Biography
I am Laura Diane Avellaneda-Cruz (formerly Norton-Cruz). I am a community researcher & organizer, advocate for children, educator, artist & athlete. I am a feminist & anti-racist. I build bridges between communities of privilege and marginalization. I am the daughter of a strong and intelligent mother and father, member of a big extended family, a loving friend, and devoted to building and growing with mi amor (my life partner), Oscar. I am Alaskan hasta los tuétanos. I seek social justice and everyday ethics and beauty. I am a synesthete, so color is very important to me. I write to learn and I am always eager to learn from others.
